KOOMBANA STRIKE
THE UNION PUNISHES
Fremantle, Dec. 16.
Arising out of the recent trouble
among the crew of the Koombana
at Fremantle, the union has decided
to suspend two of the men regarded
as instigators for six mouths, and also
fine each £5.
I thought that if anyone was going to do the suspending and fining it would be the Adelaide Steamship Company?? What kind of union was this?? I suppose it came down to the fact that the Union had negotiated a solution and were left holding the 'baby' with no resolution in sight and the 'instigators' not adhering to Union advice.
